Youth and Free Will

Nothing is more delightful than to hear an insolent youth praise free will unconditionally. It's music to my ears when I hear a young man say,

"You got to believe in yourself, you got to have passion for your goals, you got to work hard and give your best, and you will get what you want. Your future— is in your hands."

The wise old men who know better, should not spoil the innocent belief of youth. It would be an act of cruelty to tell them, "Yes, for time being it is true that your future is in your hand. You can try your best to get what you want, but in the end you will get only what you deserve."

Perhaps youth need all their energy, passion, and enthusiasm to make something out of themselves. Let us not rob them of their belief in free will by telling them the truth. Let them find the truth themselves.
